The Goodness of God
I know many of you have heard someone say, “God is good all the time and all the time God is good”.
And in case you haven’t heard this infamous quote and affirmation, maybe you can remember this little childhood prayer.
"God is good, God is great, and we thank him for our food".
Both are expressions of thanks and gratitude to God for his goodness.
Our God is a faithful God and He is so good in numerable ways, in fact, God’s goodness is unlimited and surrounds you every day and in every way.
The mere fact that God woke you up this morning and allowed you to see another day is a reason to acknowledge God for his goodness.
But most importantly we thank God for just being who he is for he is a great and mighty God.
For it is he that saved our soul and it is he that makes us whole.
The goodness of God can be seen in good times, challenging times, and in times of uncertainty all by which his power is continually at work to perform signs, wonders, and miracles.
And his goodness is evident 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Psalm 100:5 (NIV) state “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
You can trust in God’s character and goodness because he won’t fail, and he will never change.
The goodness of God allows you to have peace that permeates your innermost being and it’s because of his unconditional love that we also have love that flows like rivers of living water.
It is because of his goodness that we are made holy and righteous by the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (TLB) says “For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us.”
We are healed, delivered, and set-free from the penalty of sin and we have been reconciled with God the Father.
And his goodness is seen and always felt; for he is a constant companion, a faithful friend, a comforter, a sustainer, a keeper, and he’s the joy and strength of your life.
He protects, He guides, and He provides. Everything you want and everything you need is yours for the asking and it is already done in accordance with his will for your life.
God is good because he is the source of everything!
When I think about the goodness of the Lord, my soul cries out and shouts Hallelujah!
God’s goodness is everlasting and eternal, and for that I give him glory, honor, thanks, and praise.
Psalm 107-8-9 (NKJV) says “Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.”
Take a few moments to look back over your life and reflect on the goodness of God.
Give thanks to him for all he has done and I’m pretty sure you too will find yourself shouting Hallelujah!
Love, Joy, Peace, Power, and Hope be with you,
I’m Rev. Sandy B and I want you to BNCouraged!!
